We offer everything from colorful and seasonal costume jewelry to the one-of-a-kind creations that are made by co-owner, Beth Klein, in her studio here at the back of the shop.
Beth has been creating jewelry since 1989 when she started beading and selling pieces through her wholesale line. Since then, she has added silversmithing to her skills and been able to expand her jewelry line to include a wide range of sterling and stone pieces. A born treasure hunter, Beth searches flea markets, junk shops and estate sales to find unique objects that she can use to create her silver treasures. Recently, she started making a series of necklaces using antique typewriter keys that are bezel-set into textured sterling pendants.
She’s been know to utilize everything from vintage photographs to antique dice in her creations. She believes that jewelry should be an individual statement about who a person is and what makes them tick – not just a sparkly object. Therefore, she has started stamping quotes, positive messages, and inspirational words into some of her pieces.
Because her studio is so close, she offers a complete line of custom jewelry that can be designed with the words and thoughts from the minds of her own customers. Whether it’s words of wisdom for your college-bound son or daughter, stamped on a ring or bracelet, or a “mommy” necklace with your children’s names and birthdates, everything is original and out of the ordinary.
Along with Beth’s studio jewelry, Sleeping Lizzards also carries many other talented studio jewelers such as Micheal Michaud and his line called “Silver Seasons”.
